April Spurlock: Director of Early Childhood Education

April Spurlock NewMy name is April Spurlock, and I have been blessed to be a part of the LCA ministry for over 10 years. I have had the pleasure of being a part of thousands of children’s and families’ lives during that time. I served as a Pre-K teacher for three years, toddler teacher for one year, and a curriculum coordinator for two years.  In 2011, I felt the Lord calling me to be the director of the Early Learning Center. I’m very thankful for the opportunity to provide excellent, Christian early education for hundreds of children each year!

I was born in Decatur, Illinois but grew up in Charlotte, Tennessee.  My family moved to Smyrna my Junior year of high school and I instantly fell in love with this community.  I studied Early Childhood Education and Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree.  I’m married to my best friend, Tom, and have two amazing sons.  Both of my sons attend Lancaster Christian Academy and completed the Early Learning Center program. I currently serve in the children’s ministry at my local church.  I have a strong desire to provide a loving, nurturing, Christ-centered environment for every child that I meet.   I get that opportunity everyday at Lancaster Christian Early Learning Center.

Tammy Lawson McElroy: Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education

Tammy Lawson McElroy NewHello!!!  My name is Tammy Lawson McElroy.   I was born in the quaint and very charming town of Marion, Virginia.  My father was in the military throughout my childhood which entailed moving frequently.  I was blessed to live in many different locations from Alaska to Germany.   I come from a hard-working and very patriotic family.       I truly feel that my greatest achievement in my personal life is my three wonderful children.  I know that my purpose in this life is to tell everyone about our Savior Jesus Christ.  I cannot imagine working anywhere but Lancaster Christian Early Learning Center.  It is so important to teach children about our Savior.    I have a wonderful testimony for being planted at Lancaster Christian Early Learning Center and I know I am following God’s plan for my life.  I have been part of children’s ministry since 2002, worked at Lancaster Christian ELC since 2008 and teaching children about our Savior for a total of 29 years.  I understand the love a parent has for their child.  I know how important it is to always provide excellent childcare while teaching children academics, social and spiritual growth.  I sincerely thank you for allowing me to share this precious time with your child
